Yet another reason Kate is my hero

Earlier today a co-worker informed me of the demise of Mother’s Cookies.  I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty devastated.  I don’t know about you, but I grew up eating Mother’s Iced Oatmeal Cookies, and those delicious and adorable Circus Animal Cookies.  You know, the pink and white ones with the sprinkles?  Yeah. Anyway, I did a little research and found this article  about the end of the Oakland based company.  Then, after I cried a little to myself in my office while listening to a super emo Jimmy Eat World song, I forwarded the article onto Kate and A.   Kate’s reply is as follows:

 

First they came for the insurance companies, and I did not speak out – because I was not an insurance company.

Then they came for the banks, and I did not speak out – because I was not a bank.

Then they came for the cookies, and I did not speak out – because I was not a cookie.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.

 

If that does not move you to tears, you are a heartless being.
